Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!
---
Meet Buddy! Much like Buddy from the movie Elf - our Buddy needs to learn manners and is looking for a new home by Christmas. :)
Buddy is a purebred Labrador, and although he is crate trained, he will need housebreaking assistance. He is very sweet, and like a typical lab, loves everyone. He's bouncy and knocked over the small children in his previous home. They din't have much time for him, so basically just crated him - so when he was free in the house - he was not trained for 'good boy' behaviors. Now in rescue we are working with him. Buddy is getting neutered and we think that will help.
We think he would love another dog in the household, and definitely a family that is will to do all fun Lab things, walks, and play, and training! A large, fully fenced yard would be great too for this silly boy. He's just over 7 months old and about 50#. Buddy is ready to go home after 12/6. At that time, he will be neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated.
Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.
Save-A-Mutt requires a training contract and $100 refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience) on our larger breed puppies. You must be willing to start socializing and training as soon vaccinations are completed at 16 weeks. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit.
Adoptions take place in Stanwood.
Adoption fee is $475. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.
Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
