Bagheera was found abandoned in Austin. He is a very people friendly guy (older kids only) who arrived at MCHS on 11/19/22 when no one came forward to claim him. He is neutered and current on shots. He has tested neg for feline leukemia/FIV. He is about 4 years of age in 2024. Bagheera does not really feel comfortable with other cats so we think he would do best with people--his number one choice for a companion! We would like to adopt Bagheera to someone who knows cat behavior and has patience. Bagheera can be a "nipper." He did live for a short time with 2 dogs, who he did fine with. Adoption fee is $80. A pet carrier is required at the time of adoption and you must be 21 to adopt from MCHS. For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150

Regular animal viewing hours are at the Shelter on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM, and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM. Other days/times can be arranaged by appointment.

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes.
