Duke is as regal as his name. He may not be royalty but he certainly deserves to be treated as such! Duke is a sweet and loveable pup that adores those around him and is always happy to cuddle up with his family. He is great with people and even does well with kids!
This cutie is an active pup and loves to spend time outdoors. He likes to sniff and check out all the neighbourhood smells. He enjoys long walks and likes to run; Duke would be a great hiking buddy. He also loves to play, especially with his favourite toy - a tennis ball! In between walks and playtime, he enjoys spending his day napping on the sofa. One of his favourite things to do is crawl under a blanket to nap or relax. Duke is the perfect gentleman in the home. He has learned to do his business outside and will leave your slippers alone. He is a quiet companion and will curl up on a chair while you work.
Duke has been tested with cats and dogs, and is not reactive to either. He is under-socialized so his behaviour is intense and could be interpreted as antagonistic to dogs that don’t match his energy level or intensity. We recommend Duke’s adopters work with a professional trainer to help him work on his socialization skills and overexcitement, to help start everyone off on the right foot. He is a very smart boy and loves treats so he would benefit greatly from training. Duke would thrive with an active family with kids, that have prior dog experience and will take him for long walks and play with his ball in their yard. Duke would likely do best in a home with a securely fenced yard in a quiet neighbourhood outside the heart of the city.
Duke is an absolute gem of a dog and will thrive with the right forever family! He would love to keep you company on your outdoor adventures or cuddle up on the couch with you.
