My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DEXTER & HENRY (Henry has been adopted)
These sweet kittens were in the process of having their mom desperately relocate them along with their other two siblings to avoid being run over by a lawn mower. Someone witnessed what was happening and called us one night, so we picked them up and gave them to fosters. Mom cat is FIV + and passed it on to Dexter and Henry, but there is a chance they will become negative as they grow older. FIV + cats can safely coexist with other cats and live long and healthy lives.

Dexter (Tabby Kitten) is one of the friendliest kittens ever. He seeks out his people often and will trill greetings then wait for pets while rolling around and purring. You can feel the love pouring out of him! He is gentle and really enjoys people, other cats, and dogs as he is extremely social, playful; and energetic! Dexter is very laid back and doesn’t let anything bother him!

Henry (Black Kitten) is a love bug and is also very social, playful, and energetic! He is always purring and loves being where the action is! Sometimes he will curl up on top of you in bed for a little snuggle. He is friendly and definitely lets you know when he wants attention! Henry gets along with other cats and dogs.

These two brothers would be a great match if looking to adopt two! Dexter and Henry are neutered, vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP, flea and worm treated, and negative for feline leukemia. If interested, please fill out an application at castawaycatsde.com

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in meeting one of our cats, you can fill out our online adoption application at www.castawaycatsde.com. Once we receive your application we will contact you with any questions we may have, and then will set up a day and time for you to meet the cat/cats. Once a match is found for your family, there is an $85 adoption fee. This fee covers spaying/neutering of your cat, worming, all shots including rabies, ear mite and flea treatment, and Feline Leukemia and AIDS testing. All adoptions are done on a trial basis so we can be sure everyone is happy. Our goal is to find the best possible cat for you and to ensure our cats have happy forever homes.

More about this rescue

Castaway Cats is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit cat rescue based in Bear, DE, comprised entirely of volunteers. We do not have a shelter and all of our cats are in foster homes. This rescue was started in 1992 in an effort to help the homeless and feral cats in our area. Each cat we rescue is spayed/neutered, tested for Feline Leukemia and AIDS, vaccinated with FVCRP and rabies shots, de-wormed and de-fleaed. Because all our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, we do not adopt out kittens under the age of 12 weeks.
