Buffy is available Foster-to-Adopt. She had surgery on her eyelids to correct a condition known as 'entropian' . She will have stitches removed October 26. Buffy is a sweet and happy lady. She enjoys spending her days napping, snacking and staying close to her human. She warms up quickly to the lucky person in her life. She is attentive, sweet and takes baths like a pro! She is showing her playful side more often and is a loyal companion.
Can you give Buffy the loving home she deserves?
A facebook post caught our attention. A sad raggedy dog had been spotted. The park volunteers begged Harris County to take her in, as she was in desperate need of care and attention. Within minutes, YRH sent a tag email to Harris County. She was a 'Medical Rescue Only'. We are an approved Medical Rescue and dispatched our dedicated volunteer to Canino Road to fetch this girl immediately!
While at the shelter, she was sedated to be 'groomed' (Shaved/deflea'd and dematted) Once at our vet, they were hesitant to actually puncture her skin with a needle for her Microchip because she was so badly infected. After her exam and initial treatment, our amazing veterinary staff at VCA Four Seasons Animal Hospital began bathing with antimicrobial shampoo.
She has been examined by an eye specialist and has almost completed her aggressive therapy. We are hopeful she will not need surgery. She will, however, need eye drops for life. Chronic dry eye is treatable, but not curable.
She is well on her way!
