Aurora is a one-and-a-half-year-old pure bred Queensland Heeler bought from a breeder in Colorado and brought by her family to California. We first met Aurora at a vaccination clinic we were doing for our town. Aurora was very scared and her family explained she was not used to being around people and was not walked or exercised.
In an agonizing twist to her life, Aurora suddenly lost her family in a tragedy which left three of them dead. The only surviving member of her family is a minor and is not in a position to care for her. Police took Aurora from the home and released her to Southpaw Rescue.

Aurora is now thriving in a wonderful foster home who understands her breed requirements and what she has been through. While Aurora still has work to do as far as trust goes, she is adoptable to a family who understands her breed and will gently work through the abuse she has endured in her short life. Aurora is good with the other dogs in the home but can try to dominate the female dogs. She has always been in a home with older children and teenagers. She would be best in a home with kids over 6.
