Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This good-looking girl is Liberty. She is approximately seven years old and is just a gentle and wonderful Springer! She was owned by people who used her as breeding stock and then, sadly, they took her to a shelter when her usefulness was over. Luckily, ESRA found her right away, and Liberty was pulled from the shelter quickly.
Liberty is very good with older kids and has only minimal curiosity about the indoor cats she has met. She does like to have private time in her open crate. She sleeps on the floor at night in either child's room or with her foster parents. Liberty is housetrained and is very good about being crated. She understands basic commands and walks well on her leash.
Liberty has been spayed. Several masses were removed during the procedure and it was believed that a mastectomy would be required. However, she has responded well to antibiotics and it is now believed that a mastectomy will not be required since the masses were benign. Liberty also has a condition known as radius curvus. You'll notice that her front legs appear basset-like in the photo. This does not impede her movement. Mild exercise, including short walks, will keep her loose.
Liberty will require monitoring through routine blood work and an annual x-ray of her lungs. That being said, she is a true princess. She could be an only dog as she is a little possessive of her space and toys. However, during her time with us, Liberty has really come out of her shell and engages her Springer foster sister in play. This is a special girl with a loving temperament. She is extremely appreciative of her new lease on life and will be become a treasured member of her Forever Family.
