Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is sweet Violet. Violet and her 9 siblings were rescued from certain death at the Pajarito Mesa Landfill. Her mother dug out a den underneath a large storage container and gave birth to her 10 puppies there. She kept them safe from the coyotes. One of the landfill employees called us and let us know that a new litter of pups were there. When we got there, we discovered that the mother was feral and would not be easy to catch. It was essential that we get her because the pups were so young - maybe 5 days old. It took about a week before we were able to catch mom in a trap. Then we had the arduous task of digging out the 10 puppies.
The 10 puppies thrived in our care and mom has become a lot less shy.
Now, we are looking for a forever home for precious little Violet. She is about 18 weeks old now(as of Nov15/2022). She weighs 28 pounds. She is a tall, lanky girl that is growing into her feet. Her mother seems to have a lot of Weimaraner in her, with a good dose of Labrador mixed in.
She has a silky-smooth, jet-black coat with one little spot of white on her chest in the shape of an upside-down V - hence the name Violet.
Violet is a bright girl that trains easily. We have been socializing her with trips to the grocery store, etc. She loves car rides, toys and other dogs. She is a bouncy, happy little pup.
Violet will need a fenced in yard with at least 5 foot fencing including the gates. She will need an active lifestyle with walks/hikes and regular outings.
Violet's adoption fee is $200. She is spayed, has all of her vaccinations including all puppy booster shots and is microchipped.
