My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Twinkle Toes was surrendered to a local pet store on 9/10/22 who then contacted us. She is an independent young lady who loves to snooze in her snuggle sacks or in her igloo hide.

She is curious about people, but not enough to allow them to pick her up. She hisses and pops and spikes up whenever we have to groom her or do housekeeping in her enclosure. But she does give gentle little kisses and take food from hands without issue. Twinkle Toes generally wakes up between 8-9pm and goes back to bed well before dawn. We feed a variety of insects including waxworms, dubias, and soldier fly larva. Mealworms are not healthy options for hedgies so we only offer them to make up for our audacity after grooming her.

Adopters should be aware that hedgehogs are exotic pets with very, very particular care requirements. Hedgies typically live between 5-8 years in captivity and are incredibly delicate animals.
