My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Morgan is located in middle Tennessee, in Wartrace and we need him to be adopted locally in middle Tennessee. Morgan is very special to us so we would like to be able to visit him once in a while. He is a CFA registered purebred Maine Coon. His full registed name is Dewisplear Morgan Mayfair. He is a grand and regional champion. He was the #1 brown tabby and white Maine Coon kitten in the United States. He is a very special boy and he needs an owner who will provide him with a few special needs that he has. His breeder who was a friend of ours passed away in January so we took him home with us but unfortunately he doesn't get a long with our neutered male Maine Coon and another male cat we have . We have fallen in love with him as he is a big love bug but after trying many behavioral techniques he isn't settling well with our other males so sadly we must find him a forever home. He was neutered not long ago so he still has some male tendencies in that he can be aggressive with other male Maine Coon cats. He would do best in a home with female cats and if another male is present that male must be laid back and not dominant in nature. He is good with dogs and tries to play with our small dog Annie who is smaller than he is.Maine Coons can be very doglike and Morgan is no exception. He is like a dog! He must remain inside only as he never has been outside before. He actually could still be shown as a neutered male if his adopter was interested and I would be happy to show the adopter the ropes as we have shown cats for many years. Its a lot of fun and Morgan is used to having baths and being in the spotlight. If not he is happy to chill at home as well. He is a very laid back guy and loves to have his head rubbed. He likes to be in the same room with you but he isn't a lap cat. He has a very big coat and will need to have weekly brushing as he is very prone to mats. Mats can be very painful so its important that the time is taken to brush him every week. He is on monthly revolution for heart worms, parasites, and fleas. He is microchipped and is Felv/FIV negative. He is healthy however his last two blood glucose tests showed he is borderline diabetic. Normal is 80-120 and he was 160. Luckily this can be managed with a diabetic diet so he is on Purina DM wet and dry food. He might be able to go off the food after a while but he will have to be kept on a strict diet to maintain a good weight as overweight cats just like people can become diabetic. As long as his levels don't go over 200 he won't need insulin. But he will have to have vet visits to keep an eye on his glucose levels. The frequency will depend on his levels. Playing with him and giving him some exercise with toys can help keep his weight down as well. He uses the litter box well but given his size he needs a big litter box as he is 20lbs. If interested in learning more about Morgain please give me a call at 931-337-4199. I don't check email very often so please call me. Thank you Kim :)
