Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ghost is a sweet little guy with so much love to give. This chihuahua mix is approximately 7 years old and weighs 17 lbs. He originally came to our rescue from a shelter as a stray, and was adopted to a family with another dog, but after 8 months, the two never really got along. He was returned to rescue and is back in his same foster home with a calm female dog around his size and a cat, both of whom he does great with! Ghost has previously been to doggie daycare, where he did great with the other small dogs, and to several rescue events where he met lots of new dogs without issue. He mostly loves his people and we haven’t seen him play with another dog. He is very affectionate and sweet with people and loves to give kisses! He loves to sleep under the covers with his foster family, and sleeps through the night. We have not seen him around children, but if the potential adopter has kids, they will need to be older and considerate to be considered.
Ghost loves to go for walks. He will sometimes pull on the leash and bark if he sees other dogs while walking. However, he is still pretty easy to walk because he is small. He is crate-trained and will sometimes even go into the crate with the door open to hang out and rest. He loves toys and Nylabones — it is so funny to see him raid the toy bin, bringing every toy into his crate to play with! He does well with visitors in the home, but too many people at one time makes him nervous. Ghost occasionally marks in the house. We think this is a sign of protectiveness/marking territory, as sometimes it happens near the front door and/or when he hears a package being delivered. (You will certainly never miss an Amazon package with this little guy in your home!) He will get your attention and whine if he needs to potty; this seems unrelated to the marking behavior. Ghost is a really special boy who will bring so much joy to your home and keep you laughing with his antics. If he sounds like your perfect addition, and you live in the Orlando/Central Florida area, please complete his application and tell us more about you.
