My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Queenie's foster is committed to helping her find a home. To begin the adoption process, please reach out to her foster directly at: FosterFurMommy@gmail.com

How this pet arrived:
Queenie was brought in by a community member.

At SDHS:
Queenie has been vaccinated, microchipped and is spayed. She is now ready for her new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet sweet Queenie! We aren't positive, but we think she may be a mermaid trapped in an adorable dog's body - this girl is simply obsessed with water! When she's not playing in the sprinkler or drinking from the hose, she enjoys finding the coziest spot around and chewing on squeaky toys. If you want to feel like the most special person in the world, Queenie is your girl. That's because it takes her a little time to warm up to new people, but once she feels comfortable, you'll be welcomed into Queenie's inner circle - and she'll reward your patience with LOTS of kisses and unwavering loyalty! Because she can be nervous in new surroundings with unfamiliar people, Queenie is looking for a calm home where she can settle in, feel safe and thrive. And back to Queenie's inner circle, she appreciates friends who will go at her pace and respect her boundaries, so an adult-only home would be best. Queenie wants to settle into a loving family more than anything, and she's just waiting for compassionate adopters who will give her the time she needs to shine. If you can offer her the patience, consistency, snuggles and fun water activities she needs to thrive, please reach out to her foster at FosterFurMommy@gmail.com!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
