Oakley came to Spark Rescue neglected and starving. She had been left in a crate with very little food or care — her family no longer wanted her. Our rescue partners in Bakersfield saw her posted and picked her up. They were shocked at the condition that she was in and immediately reached out to ask if we could take her. She was covered in mats, her coat was overgrown, and she could hardly see! When we had her groomed the following day, you could see every bone in her body. That was six weeks ago. Oakley has been on a high calorie puppy and raw food diet. She now weighs 47 pounds and is gaining weight. We expect her to continue to fill in and be 60 to 70 pounds.
Oakley is fully house trained. She knows commands, walks on a leash, and is crate trained. Oakley's beginning was extremely rough but she has moved beyond that and is a very happy, loving, high-energy pup who would love nothing more than a home that will give her lots of attention, exercise, and structure.
Oakley loves the company of other dogs and would be best suited in a home with another medium or large calm dog. ADULT WEIGHT: 60–70lbs
