Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Toodles is a 7 month old, 45lb female pit mix, spayed, and fully vetted. She is mostly housebroken but someone has to go out with her to poop. She is too fearful of the outdoors at the moment to stay out and poop. This is improving with time and going out with other dogs.
Toodles is fearful in crate and will break free so would need training. That being said she can be left out but you cannot leave anything out, of course. If you leave her with some toys she should pretty reliably sit around and play with them or nap.
Toodles is good with dogs and cats and would do best with a cat that would play with her. She would be good with children 8 or older and who are respectful to animals. Toodles will need leash training as she is still fearful of walking down the street.
She listens well and is learning basic obedience. Toodles is a very sweet and tender-hearted dog. She has very playful puppy energy but settles well. Overall she is a medium energy level without being overly energetic. She does display some puppy shenanigans like jumping up to see what is at counter level, swiping items, and a bit of chewing. She is very calm for a puppy and learning very quickly what is good behavior versus things she should not do. She likes to swipe shoes but does not chew them, just moves them around the house. She was extremely scared when she was in the shelter, laying flat in the play yard and too fearful to play. She continued to lay flat when she entered foster care until she saw other dogs she could play with and gained trust with her foster family. She was too scared to go on walks or even into the backyard without a human nearby. She is working on this and making great strides to enjoy the backyard with other dogs without a human presence. Walking in the neighborhood will be the next thing she works on to build her confidence. She is also learning basic obedience and listens well to adult dogs who guide her with boundary signals. Toodles is very playful and enjoys stuffed animals and other toys. Her favorite thing to do is snuggle with other dogs and humans. She will climb into your arms to be held like a baby at times. She is really enjoying the cat and would do best with a cat that would play with her. She calmly sleeps throughout the day while her fosters work and will put herself down for a nap in an available dog bed. Toodles is a very sweet pup who gets along with everyone and anything. She would be a pleasure to add to your family. She is being fostered in Tennessee but transport could be arranged to a committed adopter. If interested in adopting Toodles please fill out an application at operationsaveashelterdog.org. Adoption fee $350.
