Curtis is now available for adoption! He is a handsome 5 year old Westie, weighing 18 pounds. Curtis is recently retired from breeding and is ready to be someone's lap dog!!
Curtis is a laid-back boy - he is very low-key and calm. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and really likes to be around them. He would do well with another dog in his future home. Curtis has been around the cats in his foster home and has shown no real interest. He has not been tested with kids but if they are older and respectful, he should be fine. He is a sweet dog and we can't imagine him not being ok with them! He is a happy dog, glad to get love from his foster mom, and eager for attention.
True to his breed, he is smart and a fast learner, quickly picking up the routine of his foster home. He is good in a crate but would rather be behind a gate if left for a long time. He is working on his housetraining - having just been neutered, it is still a work in progress so please expect accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. Curtis does love to be outdoors and knows he is supposed to potty out there too. He has improved a lot over his time in foster care. He has a fully fenced yard in his foster home and at this point will need one in his forever home. He has not had much training on a leash but we think it is a skill he can eventually pick up. Curtis loves to be brushed and did well while being bathed. He truly enjoys being around people and wants nothing more than to be loved and cared for.
Westies are generally low/minimal shedding dogs but need to be groomed regularly also.
Curtis is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, and tested neg. for heartworm. His adoption fee is $450
