Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This sweet and loveable senior boy is Rango, and he is ready for his forever home! Rango was dropped at a shelter when life got tough, after his family had him over a decade. He was pulled into ASF and came to us with an upper respiratory infection from the shelter. We got him some meds and cleaned him up and we have been his foster family in Warrenton, VA ever since.
Rango is 11 years young and weighs about 70lbs. He could stand to lose a few! He is absolutely one of the most snuggly dogs you’ll find. He wants to follow you everywhere and loves snuggling on the couch or in bed. He will lay frequently with his belly exposed.
Rango is great with kids (mine are 8 and 5) and seems good with other animals, though we never cat tested him. He loves everyone he meets. His energy level is fairly low for an Aussie, and he spends most of his time laying quietly at your feet. He was not reactive to my male or female Aussies at all, though did a little resource guarding with treats. He does fine in a crate but we’ve never needed it. Even when we are gone, he just lays quietly. I’ve never seen him really chew anything up or be destructive.
Just because he’s a little older doesn’t mean Rango doesn’t play! He loves to bite the water stream from the hose. He also barks at you if he wants you to throw a ball for him and he loves fetch. I’ve only seen him wound up one time, and that was at the deer who dared to graze outside our fence. He’s fully housebroken and we’ve had no accidents. He does have some mild arthritis which is expected at his age.
This boy deserves someone to love on him and wants nothing more than affection and to devote himself to a family. He was a happy boy, even when his family left him behind. He deserves the best! If you think Rango could be a good fit for your family, please submit an adoption application. Thank you!
