Introducing Lightning, a 3-4 year-old Pit Bull bursting with intelligence and energy. He`s already mastered sit, heel, and come, and he`s a pro at sitting for meals and leash time. He`s working on stay and is fully potty trained. Lightning`s playfulness is balanced by his sweet, shy nature. Although he takes time to warm up, his cuddly and laid-back side is worth the wait. He`s a genius who loves mental challenges and is a true love-bug.

Lightning enjoys walks, hikes, car rides, and indoor toy chasing. He`s a couch potato who`s happiest by your side. While he`s content in a condo without a yard, a secure yard would be his ideal playground. He prefers to be the only pet in the house at this time but is learning how to be dog social.

Please review our adoptable animals before making an appointment to meet one of our dogs. The shelters do their best to have a posting of photos of dogs in foster and dogs temporarily away from the shelter.

You may visit our shelter at 5473 Overpass Road, Goleta, CA Monday - Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m with adoption hours from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Our shelters are closed for lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Our volunteer adoption counselors or staff will be happy to show you any available dog for your consideration.

We also welcome out of town or out of state adoptions.

A dog adoption from the Santa Barbara Animal Shelter is $110 and includes a spay/neuter certificate, current vaccinations, rabies, health records, transition food, loaner items, goody bag, and a coupon for 4 free dog behavior training sessions which is funded by donations to K-9 PALS for the promotion of life-long homes for dogs. Dog license fees for your city or county are additional.
