Meet Jack, a spirited canine resident of our shelter. Bursting with energy, Jack`s playful nature is contagious. He likes agility, car rides, fetch, running, tugging, water, and walks where he demonstrates his occasional skill at leash walking. But all bets are off if he sees a squirrel. Jack`s enthusiasm for life is matched only by his need for affection. He`s the type of dog who`ll nuzzle into your side for a cuddle, his tail wagging a mile a minute. He`s needy and never wants to be alone, except when he does. He loves nothing more than a roughhousing romp with his fellow four-legged friends (excluding cats!). He has lived with dogs but is a little possessive of his food and would like to eat by himself. If you have a dog, you`ll need to bring it to meet him. Jack will be a wonderful family pet for a home with kids at least 15 years old who can respect his space while he eats. His vocal nature and need for attention might be a bit much for some, but to others, it`s a sign of his unwavering loyalty and love. He`s already house trained and knows how to use a doggie door, making him a great fit for any home. However, his adventurous spirit sometimes leads him to wander, so a secure yard is a must. He weighs 63 pounds and knows the sit and come commands but seldom obeys them. Excitable and endearing, Jack is the epitome of man`s best friend. Adopting lovable Jack means welcoming a bundle of joy and a loyal companion into your life. (tw 10/28/2024)
