Baby Bear is ready for her forever home. Bear is a 20 month old pitbull/boxer mix with super soft fur and the most amazing ears. She weighs 41 pounds, but thinks she’s a petite lap dog and will squeeze her way next to you to snuggle. She loves to cuddle and nap with her people. She is house-trained and crate-trained.
Baby Bear was pregnant when she first came to the shelter back in September, but none of her puppies survived because of complications with delivery. That hasn’t stopped this sweet girl from rescuing all the stuffed babies she could find in our house when she moved in mid-October. She loves toys and playing fetch. Bear is also a bit of a clown and if no one is willing or available to play, she will often throw, chase, and catch her toys herself to get her zoomies out. She’s not yet a fan of snow and cold weather, so she tries to make her walks as efficient as possible these days.
She’s a smart and curious girl, quickly learning basic commands and improving her manners and leash walking. She responds well to routine and structure. A fenced in yard or ability to take long walks in warmer weather would be ideal. Her curiosity and energy means she would probably enjoy hiking or exploring new places outside. Overall, she’s a young, healthy dog who would be cuddly, affectionate, entertaining, and loyal to her people.
