Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Charlie-PA, a male 3 month old Standard Goldendoodle puppy, who is in an IDOG foster home in Robesonia, PA.
*Please read ALL the information in his listing before applying to ensure you understand what we feel he needs to be successful in her new home. If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for Charlie, please complete our adoption application at http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application (copy/paste URL into your browser). If you completed an adoption application in the last 3 months & would like for your application to be considered for Charlie, please email us to rescue@idogrescue.com.
*You must complete our adoption application fully. If you choose not to answer all of the questions in the application, your application won’t be considered. We will review your application & email you within 2-3 weeks if you made our short list of applicants for Charlie. You can check the status of his adoption at www.doodles.petfinder.com or any of our social media pages. We will change his status to adopted when he is adopted.
*Please check your emails regularly & also your junk/spam folder. If we email you that you made our short list of applicants for Charlie, we expect a response within 24 hours.
*We base our adoption decisions on what is in the best interest of our dogs. Please note our adoption policies are in place for the safety & welfare of our dogs - your understanding is appreciated.
*We are all volunteers & have jobs, families, pets of our own to care for - we do the best that we can to get back to you in a timely manner. We believe in taking time to go through our thorough process to try to match the dog with the best fit for that dog.
*You must be approved to adopt Charlie before we will schedule a meet & greet with him. We do not transport our dogs. We expect approved adopters to visit him in his foster home within a short period of time of being approved to adopt him. Our adoption process involves vet & personal reference checks, phone interviews, a home visit, an adoption contract & an adoption fee.
*AGE: 3 months (born July 2022)
*WEIGHT: 15-20 lbs. as a puppy so far; we expect he will be a large adult Doodle maybe in the 50+lb. range.
*FENCE REQUIREMENT: A physical fence is required. No electronic/invisible fences or shock collars will be allowed. He would love a fenced backyard to run and play and be a young puppy!
*COAT TYPE: He has a wavy moderate-shedding coat. His coat may change as his adult coat is coming in now and he is losing his puppy coat. He will need regular brushing (which he loves) and grooming every 8-12 weeks (approximately $100/groom).
*ENERGY LEVEL: High puppy energy. He will need daily exercise in the form of walks, running in backyard, fetch, playing with other dogs.
*DOGS: Charlie is great with the dogs in his foster home. He would love another young dog in his new home to play with.
*CATS: Good.
*KIDS: Charlie has been around children and enjoys their company. He is a puppy and will nip/jump while playing. He may do best in a home with children who understand dogs will jump and nip. With direction and continued training this should subside.
*CAR: He has had limited experience in the car but is getting more comfortable every ride! He does enjoy looking out the window so the air can blow on his cute face!
*CRATE: he is doing excellent in the crate; he sleeps in it overnight and goes in for shorter periods of time during the day when his foster family is not home.
*HOUSE TRAINED: yes!
*LEASH: Limited leash experience. His adopter should be willing to work with him on getting accustomed to leashes/walking.
*VET: He does well at the vet and wants to meet everyone!
*GROOMING: He has never been groomed professionally. He sits well for nail trimmings.
Cutie Charlie-PA is a 3 month old male Goldendoodle puppy who was surrendered to IDOG when his breeder was unable to sell his litter.
Here is what his foster family has to say about him:
He is sweet, curious, energetic, lover! He loves to lay on people, on their feet, on other dogs. He is fully crate trained including sleeping through the night. Charlie plays well with his foster mom’s two pups and cat. He also loves to play with the family’s 3 children. He enjoys chasing and bringing back a tennis ball but will not always give it back for another toss.
Charlie is fully house trained. He will go to the door when he needs to go potty. He enjoys bath time and was great for his first nail trim. He does like the company of other dogs and also snuggles!!
Charlie is happy lying beside his foster mom outside especially on her feet! He has zero food aggression with children and other pets. He is learning simple commands such as sit and wait and will come when his name is called. We are also working on leash walking which is a work in progress. Charlie is patient for nail trimming and ear trimming and is a tail wagging wiggle butt! He will do anything for a treat!
We are looking for his new family to have dog experience with someone home during the day so he is provided with human interaction while continuing to work on house & obedience training and socialization.
Adjectives that describe Charlie:
*Snuggly
*Affectionate
*Playful
*Friendly
*Active
Activities that Charlie enjoys:
+fetch with a tennis ball
+cuddling
+chewing on bones
+running
+hanging around his people
+squeaky toys
+being brushed
+loves playing with other dogs
Things we are working on with Charlie:
-He jumps a little when meeting new people and when he is excited but it isn’t all the time.
-Leash/harness walking. It is a work in progress.
The ideal type of home for Charlie would be:
-where there is a work-from-home person, or someone who is home a lot of the day
-with another playful dog
-children 7+ due to his size, jumping up and nipping do occur
-fenced yard
-where he gets his daily exercise
Due to the intense needs of puppies, we will require adopters to be experienced dog owners with someone home during the day so he is provided with human interaction while continuing to work on obedience training and socialization. Because he is young, it is not possible to determine what temperament he will have as an adult. Also, we are unsure of the final coat type he will have so only adopters that can tolerate a shedding coat will be considered. As he matures, his natural disposition and coat type will emerge. Willie will require training and to be neutered by 9 months of age – these expenses will be covered by the adoptive family.
Charlie has seen our vet and is current on age-appropriate vaccines (DAPP, Bordetella and Rabies), dewormer, and heartworm/flea tick preventives. He is microchipped. He may need 2 more DAPP boosters. He is too young to neuter so IDOG will hold a $200 neuter deposit. The adopter will be required to neuter him by 9 months of age. You will need to send the vet receipt to IDOG and we will then refund the deposit. If you fail to get him neutered by 9 months of age per the adoption contract terms, you will be required to return him back to IDOG Rescue.
ADOPTION FEE: $650 adoption fee + $200 refundable neuter deposit to be refunded upon proof of neuter
ADOPTION FEES:
Under 6 months: $650 and up
6 months - 2 years: $450 and up
2 years - 4 years: $350 and up
4 years+: $250 and up
Special Needs fee/donation assessed on individual basis
Puppies have a higher adoption fee to help IDOG cover the vetting and expenses of the other dogs in IDOG whose adoption fees do not cover their expenses.
