You could not find two sweeter dogs if you tried. Toby's best gal pal, Zoe, is very reliant on Toby for confidence. They must be adopted together as they do not like being separated. They were brought to a vet to be euthanized "because of their age". The clinic intervened and convinced the owners to surrender them and Dolly's Legacy was contacted to bring them into rescue. They had been neglected for quite some time. Zoe's teeth were in terrible shape, and Toby's fur was matted and full of waste, and underneath it all he had a ruptured and infected anal gland. That has all been addressed and they are both on the mend and feeling so much better. Toby has the face of 'grumpy dog', but he loves cuddles and kisses and will dance for attention. He takes baths very well and is feeling like a new dog after all his mats were shaved off and his hiney cleaned up. They sleep in a kennel and seem to use it as their safe space. These two just want to feel secure and give you all their love in their retirement years. They are two hilarious characters (think Sofia and Dorothy from Golden Girls!).
Requirements to adopt Toby & Zoe:
*Must adopt them as a bonded pair
*Must own a home with a fenced yard
*Must have exceptional veterinary reference
*Must have unlimited ability to love & spoil them
Toby is a male Pekingese who was born approximately 9-1-12. Zoe is a female Pug who was born approximately 9-1-08. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & given heartworm prevention. Toby had an anal mass removed as well as a dental. Zoe also had a dental. Adoption fee is $450 as a pair to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
