Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Whiskey! It’s hard not to get lost in those piercing blue eyes of his. He is STUNNING. It's crazy to believe he has been in a foster home the past 6 months and hasn't had any adoption interest, and we have no idea why! This handsome boy is about 7 years young is an amazing companion. He is the perfect age for a husky - he is mature, smart, curious, talkative and of course a little mischievous. Older huskies are the BEST HUSKIES.
Whiskey is friendly with everyone he meets, and he's even kid-friendly! He enjoys belly rubs from his foster’s two small children and is a very gentle boy.
If you want a fluffy shadow to lay beside you wherever you are, he's your guy. If you are just watching tv on the couch, he wants to be right beside you. He is house-broken, knows basic commands and is crate-trained.
Whiskey would do well with another companion dog as a pack mate. He loves playing with his foster’s German Shepherd. He has a moderate activity level. He loves going for walks and rides in the car. After playing with the foster’s dog he is happy to just lay down and relax. He has no dog or food aggression. He loves tennis balls and enjoys chewing on yummy bones.
As a typical husky, he is a little houdini, so husky experience is ideal. He can easily break out of a wired kennel and needs a tamper-proof crate. He needs to be kept in his crate when left alone otherwise, he can get bored and try to chew things around the house. He is great in his crate.
A secure, tall fenced yard is REQUIRED. He is a digger and will dig when left alone in the yard, unattended. He needs someone who understands the husky breed, they are natural escape artists.
At only 7 years old, Whiskey still has so much life ahead of him and would love to find his forever home. He is up-to-date on all vaccinations, neutered and microchipped! If you are interested in meeting him, please fill out an Adoption Application: https://lifeofrileyrescue.org/adoption-application
** He is currently being fostered outside of Sacramento, CA. **
