What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We adopted Benny 6 years ago after losing our previous Chow dog to cancer. Benny is both fiercely loyal and independent. He is a loving companion and wants nothing more than to be by your side at all times. Excellent guard dog. He is about 6-7 years old. He lives with our other dog, Coco, in harmony.
The good: Benny is a sweet dog in a controlled environment with an experienced handler. He gets along very well with our other dog, Coco, our friends' goldendoodle, and neighbors senior dog. He's EXCELLENT at critter control in the yard (he kills anything that moves). He loves to cuddle and get belly rubs.
The bad: Benny has a very low threshold for outside inputs. Unfortunately, we live in a neighborhood where other dog owners are not respectful and let their dogs run loose off leash. Benny has attacked some of our neighbors dogs when they approach him off leash. He respects older dogs. He does not like younger dogs.
Benny would thrive best in a low stimulus environment.
