My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet girl was found at a local dump. She was so emaciated and dehydrated she would not have lasted much longer. She was limping from what looked to be an old injury, covered with fleas and ticks but still wagged her tail when found. She had been surviving off of trash and did vomit up some on the ride to the vet. After a few days in the hospital she was ready to come to us and begin rehab. Maple is a great girl, VERY affectionate, smart, loving and playful. Not sure why someone would dump her. She knows a few commands, appears to be crate trained, house trained and listens well. Though she is listed as good with other dogs Maple tends to favor females so a meet and greet is required. She does not seem fond of male dogs. We are taking applications on her if interested in meeting her - email us.

More about this rescue

Our History:
Our organization was established in May of 2000 as a No-kill, 501 (c) (3) non-profit shelter. At that time animals were fostered and adopted out by word of mouth out of a donated space at a local veterinary clinic, staffed completely by volunteers. We outgrew that space quickly and moved into our own location in 2002 becoming a key resource in the community. We are located on IH-10 West in Fair Oaks Ranch, near Boerne, housing only dogs. We have made great improvements through the years and hope to increase the number of animals rescued, increase adoptions, fundraising events, and reach more communities. We provide a temporary shelter, care and rehabilitation to homeless and unwanted dogs until responsible, loving homes can be found. As a no-kill shelter, we want to help reduce the number of animals euthanized each year by educating the public on the importance of proper pet care, animal behavior and overpopulation prevention. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before leaving our facility.
We are "Saving lives others have toss away".
