Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tika is a sweet 5-yr. old girl with a lot of puppy energy. She is VERY inquisitive and is forever exploring, like a true hunting dog. Her exploring includes being able to stretch to get into things she can reach on tables and counter tops. She has the potential to be an escape artist, so a MINIMUM 6ft. BLOCK WALL is REQUIRED. We are also looking to adopt her within a 50 mile radius of Central Tucson. SoAZBR does a home visit on all applicants. She needs an owner that will take her on at least 2-3 walks daily AND have another active dog to play with, due to her HIGH energy. She is good with other dogs but NO CATS. Children in the family should be at least 8 yrs. old as she is very strong and would knock over a toddler. She loves to ride in a car and is good on a leash. She is ok in a crate but does have some separation anxiety so she should not be crated more than 2-3 hours. If she is left unattended for long she does like to get into anything her nose leads her to. She needs a doggie door so she can go in and out and explore, so she doesn’t get bored. Tika has had Valley Fever for a year and will likely stay on daily medication for at least another year or more. Her owner will be required to provide her daily meds and take her to regular vet visits to get bloodwork and Valley Fever levels checked.

We generally require the following in an adoption:
• A signed, dated and completed adoption application.
• A home visit prior to the adoption.
• The adopter must be capable of caring for the dog emotionally and financially in the long-term.
• The adopter should have a fenced yard.
• If a renter, the adopter must be able to provide documentation from the landlord explicitly stating that pets are o.k.
• If the adopter lives in a shared-wall environment, SoAZBR needs assurance that a barking, noisy beagle is permissible.
• The dog must have accessed to a heated/cooled house during the day.
• The adopter must contact SoAZBR if they can no longer keep their dog.
• The adopter will keep SoAZBR as a secondary contact on the dog's microchip information so that we may assist in reuniting beagle with owner.
• The adopter assumes all financial and legal responsibility for the dog upon signing the adoption contract.
SoAZBR does not conduct on-site adoptions at pet events. SoAZBR does not conduct adoptions for dogs as gifts. We require that the entire family be involved in the adoption of the dog.
Fees range from $75 to $350 for each dog.
