Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dougie is about 1.5 years old and weighs 44 lbs right now. Douglas Magoo (Formal name) is a traveling pup. He has traveled from Texas to Chicago and Arkansas and showed an affinity for snow in the windy city. Diving nose first into fresh snow and frolicking about, he was lost in joy and wonder. Bundled up in his Chicago’s best sweater and coat, he liked the winter walks. Can’t say his foster mom shared the same sentiment. Dougie (Doug-e) is a very handsome boy that loves going everywhere with his family. He loves going to stores that allow dogs, and especially loves dog stores where he will pick out his toy and treat and beg you to buy it for him. He is affectionate, smart, attentive, social, loves doggie day care, and car rides. He also does well with cats. His toys are a big deal to him. He walks around the house proudly carrying his toy in his mouth with his ears back while simultaneously wagging his tail. He enjoys being groomed and especially likes his teeth brushed. His vanity has no bounds. Above all, this darling boy wants to be right next to his human(s) and be a BIG part of the family. If you are looking for a best friend, family dog and versatile pup you can take anywhere, you have found him. Please note that we don't recommend Dougie to families with children under 5.
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention.
All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
