My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Little Bit
Little Bit
What a mess! Are you looking for a dog who always wants to be near you? Do you want a dog who LOVES car rides and walking through the woods or just down the street? Want somebody to follow you into the bathroom and guard your feet while you do your business? Well…meet Little Bit (LB for short). She is approximately 16 months old but one look into those deep, sweet, expressive eyes anyone can tell she has a very old soul. Little Bit had a rough start to life – hit (or thrown from – there is still some debate) by a car and left in a field off the freeway, Little Bit had a long, hard fight to survive along with several months of PT just to walk again. She’s still a little stiff in the backend sometimes (especially when she first wakes up in the morning), but you couldn’t tell it watching her chasing her big brother (Goose) around the yard like the big dog she is in her heart. Because of all her injuries (more stitches than dog when she came into foster care, hence the name: she was a little bit of dog with a whole lot of hurt), her basic training has been delayed but she is trainable (it might just take a little longer than most dogs – food motivation and shear repetition are her friends) and such a sweet little wiggle worm diva. She can be your very best companion while at the same time being your biggest nuisance: she has that skill. She gets along with everyone (never met a stranger), flittering around to make sure everyone in the house knows she’s there and requiring full attention, but will still bark when she hears something outside that just doesn’t sound right. Fully vaccinated, spayed, housebroken (once you learn her signals – she will literally climb on top of someone to let them know she has to go out), and a mild case of heartworms (currently in treatment), Little Bit is ready to move on to a family who will love her and cherish her for the little princess that she believes herself to be!

Note: The above bio on the dog reflects the behavior we have observed in the dog's foster home. We provide adopters current information on our dogs; we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners. Since they are rescue dogs we guess breed of looks.

Our adoption fees vary, according to species, size, age and other issues. Discounts apply in some cases. Our adoption fee covers dewormed, heartworm tested (if over 6 months), started on heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, vaccinated for bordetella, dhppv, rabies (if age appropriate) and microchipped as well as spay/neuter at our preapproved vets. All puppies not altered due to age will under a foster to adopt contract until completed and an additional deposit of $100 will be required- deposit will be refunded upon completion of surgery.

We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who understand- these are rescue dogs, they will need time to decompress, routine and stability. We put our lives into saving these dogs- we expect their new families to be prepared for a lifetime commitment before applying- dogs are not recyclable.

Please do not send an email inquiring about a dog. Please fill out the adoption application found at https://www.rangersreach.org/ We are 100% volunteer ran we try as hard as we can to get through applications as fast as possible. If we spend all our time answering inquires and emails, we have no time to look over applications. Please do not apply until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. We do not hold dogs for any reason. We do try to be fair and go in the order applications are received. If no response, decision or adoption is made we must move on to the next application. Applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will receive that dog.

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE HAVE NO BRICK AND MORTAR LOCATION-- WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE, ALL DOGS ARE IN PRIVATE FOSTER HOMES.
If we if we think your home might be a good fit, we will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application. We do check references, use social media, been verified, do phone interview/emails, and home check will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.

More about this rescue

Ranger's Reach is a passionate group of people whose goal is to protect and take care of animals through education, advocacy, resources, rescue/adoption, and community outreach.

Raising awareness and being involved in our community to promote good pet ownership through spay/neuter programs to end the suffering and overpopulation of unwanted animals, and to help keep animals out of the shelter and in homes.

Building relationships with shelters, rescues and our community to assist with daily needs of food, vaccines, monthly preventatives, microchipping, and unforeseen expenses.

Developing a network of supporters, sponsors, volunteers, fosters, veterinarians, donors, and transporters who are dedicated to work together as one to save as many animals and end the tragic situation so many endure daily in our area.

Continually bringing homeless pets into the hearts and minds of people in such a powerful way that neglect, homelessness, and killing of companion animals becomes completely unacceptable.
