My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jax is a sweet and silly 4 yr old border collie/lab tripod looking for his Forever Home or Foster 2 Adopt Home. Rescued all the way from Cleveland Texas just outside of the Houston area. While we dont know much about Jax past this area is very poor almost impoverished and animals are a minor thought. Jax can still be a bit shy in new situations or any reach over and pet; he does better with happy identified introductions. He is house and crate trained, up to date in vaccines, walks nicely on a leash w a playful hop and boy does he love his leash walks! He also likes watching TV with his people and riding in a car or truck, he hops right in. He is physically fit, since his rescue his muscles have developed; we dont see any structural issues. Jax likes dogs a lot and prefers non dominant, friendly dogs he can play a little with. His bouncier friends are always welcome to put on good show and crack some laughs w him. Jax has a willingness to please and a sharp mind, he picks up new tricks and rules fast with positive reinforcement. He's the kind of dog you can speak to in sentences and he just seems to "get it"-smart cookie! Jax loves having his people around and is great w calmer children 7+ and teens that really want to include him and play a game of fetch or gentle tug. Jax has weathered through a few ups and downs in his past taking it in stride, he has learned so much. He does chase bicycles on walks with redirection and identifying the stimulus ahead of time will bring his focus comes back to you. This training needs to be continued, but he is part Border Collie and learns easily; this will be a thing of his past! His ideal home will have a large yard with a secure 6 foot fence; work from home or he can crate for a work day with a walk in the AM and PM; children 7+; no cats or any other livestock; and meeting new human and dog friendly friends as he had not much socialization prior to rescue. He would love to explore camping and other fun hikes utilizing a wheel chair and of course a fun home that enjoys a smart communicative pooch. Jax is full vetted and being treated to kill off remaining heart worms after injections ($900). Like we said animals are nothing to people coming from this poor area of TX and he most likely never received any preventive. My rescue treats the whole body to remove all the toxins and all the junk left behind from these pesky heart worms. Despite the trials, this tough boy is no complainer and maintains a great sense of humor and zest for life. He truly is a gem of a dog that is certain to make the right family happy. Jax adoption donation is $200, there is an application to adopt and home visit following meet and greets for his forever home. Jax can travel for the right home
