My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Montana was a dumped rabbit that came in with a number of HUGE botfly larvae in places and depths that required actual surgery by our vet to clean out, remove masses of scar tissue, and stitch up.

In most cases, botfly larva can be CAREFULLY removed by our experienced bunny people. But his case was so severe that our vet took photos to share with her staff and other vets.

His situation was 100% preventable if he'd had proper care, but left on his own as he was, it would have killed him, slowly and painfully.

After surgery, he looked a lot like a patchwork bunny. And yet, Monty, still loves people. He wants to cuddle and be petted. He likes attention and treats. He desperately wants a family of his own that will love him and protect him so he never has to worry about bad things happening to him ever again.

Paan Yo was one of 12 rabbits that we took in during a single month this year during ‘Easter bunny dumping season’. She was a very young, tiny rabbit found being stalked by a neighborhood cat. She already had a huge gash from one side of her rump all the way around and down the other side.

Paan Yo is the phonetic pronunciation of the word for friend in Chinese. From the moment she came to us, she has been the sweetest bunny ever, always and only wanting to be snuggled and petted. It is obvious that someone loved her prior to her being dumped. She knows love and wants it back.

She is extremely sweet and loving and is ready for her forever home. This is the bunny you will want to have beside you (or on your lap) as you watch TV She will want to follow you around the house. She’d love to take naps with her person. She is the epitome of a companion bunny. You will NEVER be lonely with Paan Yo around.

She does have a friend at the rescue, Clara. These two interact regularly and if a pair of bunnies might be of interest, we would be happy to work on bonding them prior to adoption or assist with that process with advice.

Currently in foster care in Laurens but we can make arrangements for him to be seen in the Greenville or Columbia areas for approved adopters as needed.

Are you the family that Monty is dreaming of?
