Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Mickey!
Mickey is a pretty happy guy and once you get to know him he's into cuddles. He seems to enjoy a good brushing, which is great because he is a husky mix! He LOVES a car ride!!! If Mickey had his choice he's picking a convertible for his ride! Mickey is a wind in his hair kind of guy. He enjoys walking, and if you're up for it, jogging is a perfect option too. He is behaved on his outings, being happy with any outing of choice. He has been at the beach, and while hiking the dunes was fun, the lake was just...eh. We don't see Mick as being a water kid. There are many things for Mickey to explore in life, and he's ready to see the world! ...or just see what's at the park or the neighborhood. He's not fussy, just has joy in participating in life. A little wind in his hair...you can feel Mickey smiling!
He does know the "SIT" command and is very treat motivated.
Basics: He is guessed to be about 5 yrs old and weighs 55lbs. He is up to date on rabies, vaccines, flea-tick and heartworm prevention.
Adoption Process:
- Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application
- One of our team members will get back to you via phone.
- Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding
- Adoption fee helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.
-We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.
NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.
About Us:
Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need.
We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
