Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Diamond was rescued from living outside on a farm where she sought safety to give birth to her six puppies. She showed up with a heavy broken chain around her neck and lots of open wounds on her head. There is an active dog fighting ring near this farm in SC and the woman who so kindly allowed her to stay and give birth wondered if she'd been used as a bait dog. Diamond was very scared to start and needed a couple of weeks to warm up enough to even leave the safety of her kennel at the rescue. Now she is quite outgoing with us at the rescue and very loving. She enjoys attention and pets. She will need an understanding adopter who is willing to give her time to trust and settle into her new home. She is being spayed in the coming days (today is 9/20/22) and once recovered she'll be ready for her new home. She is heartworm positive. This just means she'll need medication placed in her food dish for several months post adoption. She is expected to make a full recovery. Heaertworm is not transmissible to humans or other pets. Diamond has been through a lot but she is learning about the good dog life. She enjoys snuggling a stuffed animal in a dog bed. She feels more confident when she has a dog friend. She has not been tested around children. Please fill out an online application at www.pawsitivelypamperedpets.com under the rescues tab. Be sure to list two references that are not family and provide a vet reference if you already have pets. Thank you for considering giving this sweet girl the chance at a great life! Update on 11/29/22 Diamond has really come out of her shell. She is becoming more and more outgoing. She still needs someone to go slow and teach her that she'll be safe as she ventures out on walks, etc. Diamond gives lots of love and kisses once she figures out you are a safe person. I love this girl!
