Poor Yardley! Animal Control in a rural part of North Carolina trapped this poor boy and he somehow endured a severe penetrating eye injury while at the shelter and lost his left eye. He sat in a kill shelter for a week with no medical attention. We HAD to save this sweet boy and give him another chance!
Yardley is a medium sized dog, around 60 lbs. and is believed to be a lab/foxhound mix. He is about 2 years old, reddish-brown and white, and he is missing his left eye. Extensive surgery has been performed and he has made a full recovery from the surgery. He takes a twice daily pill that costs about $16/month for a urine condition that resulted from his eye/head injury, but that is in no way life threatening and Yardley is expected to live as long and as healthy as any other dog. He is housebroken and will alert you when he needs to go out, but he does have to go out fairly often.
None of this has not deterred Yardley, though! He is sweet, affectionate and loving, and will do well in a loving family. He is wonderful with children and he does well with female dogs but doesn't really care for male dogs. He has not been tested with cats, but we think he will probably be a little too curious about them.
Yardley has been neutered and is up to date on all vaccines. He is FULLY vetted in every way, however, he sits in a foster home desperately waiting for his forever home and family. His adopters will receive copies of all medical records.
Yardley is a total love bug! He loves people and wants to be a family member. He is affectionate and loves belly rubs and to be petted. He enjoys chew toys and treats, and shows no food, toy, or treat aggression. He adores his foster family kids (ages 5 and 12) and is wonderful with them!
Interested adopters or fosters please contact MJsAnimalSanctuary@gmail.com. Yardley is up-to-date with routine shots and spayed/neutered.
