Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chip, Chocolate Chip, Chip-a-ronie!!!
Chip had a family from the time he was 6months through 1year old. The family was neglectful of this sweet and loving guy. Not enough time was spent with him to teach him good doggie manners.
So, during his time at the rescue, he has learned that jumping on people is NOT good. He has learned the word NO. He has learned to "sit". He is now kennel trained. He has learned that being on a schedule is a good thing. He has learned to share his space with other dogs and puppies of various sizes and ages.
Chip loves to play keep away with the other dogs. He also loves to be chased. He does like to run after a ball but still hasn't learned to return the ball. He loves jumping in and out of the three kiddie pools. He loves chasing dragon flies. He is an amazing athlete...for that person looking to do some agility fun. And Chip is THE BEST road trip partner!!! His favorite spot is to ride in the passenger seat. But, he is also happy to ride in the back seat as long as he can have his face as near as possible to you. He can be a couch potato, too! He is quite versatile!
Chip is potty trained. He has never made a mess in his kennel nor inside the house. He is kennel trained. When he needs to potty and he is inside his kennel, he does alert with a whine. He sleeps the whole night in his kennel. During road trips, in the hotels, he would lay on a comfy chair and sleep the whole night with no accidents as well.
He is happy to pop out of kennel as early as 8am Once he exits his kennel, he quickly makes his way to the back door. Happily runs outside and straight onto the grass to his business.
Chip is very well socialized with other dogs and puppies of various sizes and ages. Chip was sent for training for his leash walking needs. He now does VERY WELL walking on leash. He also knows 'sit', 'place', 'stay', 'down', and 'place'. He does have a huge burst of energy and his training has helped him with this. His family will be shown how to work with Chip because Chip will at first think he is running the show. So, it would be best if his family is dog savvy.
Chip has all four parvo shots, bordatella shot, and rabies shots. He has been neutered and chipped. He is dewormed several times. And he has been tested, treated (if needed), and retested for giardia and coccidia. Chip is also on a heartworm preventative Iverhart and flea and ticks preventative Simparica.
Chip is ready to be a great family member!
All animals receive a health certificate (stating that a licensed veterinarian saw the pet and deemed it healthy for travel, but is not a promise of perfect health).
