My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Pearl and I am so happy to be here! There for awhile I wasn't sure if I would ever be some place safe again. My previous owners left me with 3 other dogs, 15 cats, and lots of garabage in their foreclosed house. We were left there for 2 weeks before we were finally rescued. It was so horrible at that house that when I arrived here at Animal House I had urine burns on my feet and needed 3 baths to get all of the fleas off of me! At one point a very nice older gentleman took me home with him, but the neighbors set off some bottle rockets while on my walk and it scared me so bad I accidentally tripped up my owner. He became afriad that it might happen again and he could get hurt without anyone there to help him (he was about 80 years old), so he brought me back here to the Animal House. Even after all of that I still love people and can't wait to find a real family who will take care of me.

(Pearl is only about 19 lbs and has come a long way from the malnourished and abused dog she was when she arrived here.)
