Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ollie is 1 year old and 57lb
Ollie isn’t just a pretty face - he's quite charming, too. It's a good bet that he's a husky/shepherd mix. The folks at the shelter named him Owlet because his fur is soft.
When Ollie first arrived, it was clear he had never lived inside before and had no social skills. But he’s a quick learner and is now housebroken. He can still be shy when meeting new people, though he’s improving every day.
He guy is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. He’s a Velcro dog, following his people around the house.
Ollie loves toys, playing fetch and wrestling with dogs his size. While he’s very sweet with the seven-pound Chihuahua in his foster home, he doesn’t realize the size difference when he tries to play with her. It would be great to see Ollie go to a home with another big, playful dog.
Unlike most huskies, Ollie comes when he’s called. That’s from his shepherd side of the family. Ollie knows sit, stay, shake and leave it. We’re still working on the down command.
Crate training is going well. Since Ollie’s a bit mischievous, we’ve found he needs to be crated when his humans leave the house.
Ollie definitely needs an outing on a daily basis to keep him relaxed in the house. He loves to hike, and we’ve slowly introduced him to the local dog park. So far, Ollie enjoys the park when it’s not crowded, but is overwhelmed when there are a lot of other dogs.
In a short time, Ollie has come a long way. With consistent training, Ollie will be a great companion for an active family.
