PLEASE scroll down and read the ENTIRE BIO. It is lengthy but has ALL INFO we know. Emailing and asking for more info is only going to hold up your process and risk your chances of the dog you want being gone. COCOA is in SALEM, Ohio. SHE is fully vetted including spay/microchip/rabies/Bordetella/parvo distemper vaccine/worming/heartworm lyme test/heartworm-flea prevent while at the shelter. We do not ship dogs, we do not transport dogs, we do not hold dogs. You must be ready to adopt within 72 hours upon approval.
FULLY VETTED ADOPTION FEE is: $200
** PLEASE NOTE: Since we are a shelter, the majority of our dogs have not had the luxury of a foster home. As a result, what we post in reference to their behavior, temperament, likes/dislikes etc is only what we witness here and not in a home atmosphere. ALSO, the breed mix posted is simply a GUESS on our part, we DO NOT do DNA testing.
WHO'S READY FOR SOME CRAZY ENERGY??? BOXER LOVERS, THAT'S WHO!!!! So here I am!! Let me help y'all out by going over a few pros and cons of owning my breed. CONS: I would not be ideal for families with small children: Not because I don't like them but because I can get pretty excited and could jump around playfully and accidentally hurt them. High activity needs: I will need plenty of exercise and if this need is not met, there is a possibility that I may be destructive if left alone in the house. I am not a good fit for anyone that considers themselves a "couch potato". PROS: Playful: I love to play. I would make a great companion pet for older kids. Intelligent: Not to brag, but in addition to my good looks I am very intelligent and compared to some other breeds (like those silly hound dogs lol) I am relatively easy to train. Easy to Groom: Us boxers don’t shed very much, and our short hair is easy to maintain by brushing it a few times each week. I am what you could call a "people dog" which means that I LOVE human companionship. I would love a home that would spend most of their time with me. In my "previous life" I lived with older kids and 2 cats. Hanging out here at the shelter, I have been good with the other dogs. I do great on car rides and enjoy the co-pilot position when it's available! I can't really tell you how my potty habits are since I have not had the opportunity to be in a foster home. However, with my willingness to learn new things, I'm sure we can figure it out together. I think that about covers it!
