Here's what the humans have to say about me:
IN Hattiesburg, MS
My name is Wonder and I wonder how I got it. I think it was from my rescue friends. I believe I’m part Aussie and Border Collie. The vet thinks I’m between 3 and 5 years old.
I was a stray and I’m not sure how all that happened. I’m glad I was found and transported by airplane to my foster family (FF). I was heartworm positive and underweight when I was introduced to my FF. I went through treatment and I’m now heartworm negative! I’ve gained weight, too, and am just under 70 lbs. I’m “fixed” and up-to-date with all my shots. I have enjoyed my FF.
They decided to keep me a bit longer to confirm I was healthy and to monitor how I would socialize in a family. Here’s the scoop. I am a very mellow dog compared to my FF’s Aussie. I also am not as verbal and my FF didn’t hear a peep out of me for several months. I showed them I have a deep sounding bark but I do it rarely.
I chewed a few unimportant things when I first arrived at my FF. They bought me some fake bones and that’s all I really wanted. I’ve learned to give and receive affection from my FF. At first, I was shy but now I seek affection. I don’t like to be brushed
but I put up with it when my FF does it. My FF’s house has a doggie-door to the back porch and
backyard. I spend most of the time outside on the porch or under bushes where it is cool.
I love to go for walks and am very good on a leash and get excited when someone from my FF gets my leash. I have learned “come,” “wait,” and “sit.” I do have a vision problem and may be blind in my right eye. However, I do adapt to my environment and you might not even guess I have an issue with seeing. I have been good with strangers and put up with my FF’s Aussie who is an Alpha female. We mostly ignore each other.
For my size, I am very gentle. I would love a forever home with more room to explore and enjoy with them. I ride in a car just fine but haven’t done it much.
