My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Glen, a silly, smiley little boy who loves coffee and cuddles above all else! You heard that right, he will lap up coffee from the cup if it`s in reach. In his foster home he loved playtime with his foster sister, Stella, zoomies in the yard, toys, WATER! and to be on your lap any time that you`ll have him. Glen is a loose leash walker after lots of practice at the shelter, but he can get a little spooked by other dogs when he is on the leash on the street. He also prefers slow introduction to new dogs and people, but once acclimated he will be your new bestie!

Glen will make you laugh daily. He likes to lean on those he loves as if to say `love me.` He makes very funny head tilts and faces, and he is a really big cuddler, he is so soft! He also learned many commands in his foster home. He knows: sit, down, stay, shake, go to your crate, inside, and come here. He is quiet as a church mouse at home, is fully house trained, and is a great companion in the car.

Glen is curious and so much fun, he is ready to meet his people!!

Additional adoption info

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

More about this shelter

Austin Animal Center is the largest open-intake animal shelter in central Texas and we work very hard to try to save 90% or more of the thousands of animals we shelter every year. We always need volunteers and both monetary and in-kind donations to help us in our sheltering and prevention activities. Visit our website to find out how you can help!
