Here's what the humans have to say about me:
NOT a Rainbow dog, please call the owner, please contact pungo_vet@verizon.net This is Lizzy. She is a two year old American Pitbull Terrier. And as you can see, Lizzy has no hair. When all her hair fell out her former owners dropped her off at a shelter. A local vet, that visits the shelter often, saw her there and decided she was too sweet not to have a chance and brought her back to the clinic. Lizzy is now the 'vet dog' at the clinic and happily greets clients as they come in with their pets. Lizzy, at any time during business hours can be seen behind the office counter playing with other dogs. Big, small, male, female dogs, she does well with them all. She does very well with cats. A very sweet dog who is happy to be feeling better. As the vet suspected, Lizzy has Hypothyroidism. A low functioning Thyroid, that a simple inexpensive pill, twice daily will fix. She is now beginning to grow her hair back and has little peach fuzz hair everywhere. Soon Lizzy wilI have her full coat and she will be well. I went to visit Lizzy. A happy, loving dog is what I met. There has to be something very special about a dog, with no hair, to get this once in a lifetime chance. Anyone meeting this dog will discover just how she got so lucky. She's a keeper!! Lizzy had just been bathed and was running around in a pink fleece jacket to keep her warm, it was adorable to see. Lizzy is housebroken, spayed, cratetrained, and UTD on all vaccines. To learn more about Lizzy or to just hear about how she is progressing during rescue, please contact pungo_vet@verizon.net
