My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

8/2/24 Yes, she's still here! Someone needs to snatch up this little girl! 10/23/24 We can't believe Roberta is still here. Someone, PLEASE give her a home of her own! Roberta is a 9 year old gold and white Shih Tzu weighing about 11 pounds. She came to us a year ago, and she likes to think she's in charge. This girlie loves to be out in the back fenced yard, monitoring the other dogs and the neighborhood. She likes to find a sunny spot to catch some sun, then moves to a cool spot to enjoy the breeze. She's still working on her house training and relaxing around people. Roberta gets along with the other dogs here and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. She needs her own family that can help her learn all the secrets of being a family member in a home. To inquire about Roberta, please complete an application FIRST, at www.bongosbuddiesrescue.com

Additional adoption info

Upon receiving a completed application, we will contact your two personal references plus your veterinarian, and then schedule a home safety visit with you. We do have all adopters sign an adoption contract and ask for an adoption donation (dependent on the age of the dog) to help defray the costs of vetting the dogs in our care. We prefer to not place our dogs in homes where there are children under the age of 10. You must be able to pick up your dog - we do not use commercial transportation methods.

More about this rescue

We have seen the need to provide more foster home environments for dogs needing a second chance, so our rescue was just founded at the beginning of 2016. We welcome donations to help with the care of our foster dogs, and we also welcome local people interested in fostering or helping us in any way to fill out the volunteer application.
