My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Belle was previously adopted and brought back to the shelter at no fault of her own. Her owner could no longer keep her. Since arriving back at the shelter, our veterinarian observed multiple tumors all over Belle`s body. Unfortunately, our vet is unable to remove the tumors due to the margins and the likelihood of the tumors reappearing. Our medical team`s best guess (without more testing) is that Belle has mast cell tumors and doesn`t have a great prognosis. We`d love to get Belle out of the shelter and into a home so she can live out her remaining days on the comfort of a couch! Belle`s fosters say that she is a couch potato who loves snuggling. She is housetrained, crate trained and has a few tricks up her sleeve!

Belle is an absolute sweetheart who looks so cute strutting around the yard. She would do best in the home where she can start off as the only pet in the home while she adjusts. She would prefer a home without cats.

Additional adoption info

We encourage everyone interested in adopting a new pet to come visit the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter to view the wonderful selection of cats, dogs and small animals we have available for adoption. When you see an animal you are interested in, come in as soon as possible as we are first come, first serve and are unable to place HOLDS on pets over the phone.

Speak to an Adoption Counselor at our Adoption Center regarding your interest to adopt and they will advise you of the Hold and Adoption process. All pets adopted from our facility are microchipped, spayed or neutered and vaccinated for Rabies prior to being released to the adopter. This is required by Texas State Law for any animal adopted from an animal shelter or rescue group. We do allow out of area adoptions as long as the selected pet is old enough to receive these services prior to being released to the adopter.
