Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Buddy!
Buddy is a 3 year-old blue merle Australian Shepherd - neutered and up-to-date on vaccines and heart worm/flea prevention.
Buddy is a sweetheart once he is comfortable with you. Unfortunately buddy developed some trust issues after being tasered by a delivery driver. After being tasered he became defensive to anyone carrying packages or anything Resembling a package delivery. He was taken to his vet to be euthanized as his elderly owner could not afford training and was not physically able to work him through the PTSD of being tasered. Thankfully the vet refused to euthanize him and he was owner surrendered to a trainer that works and fosters ASF dogs.
Since being with his foster who is a trainer he has not exhibited any of these behaviors and has been a complete silly love bug to all staff and everyone he meets!! Buddy’s forever home would be one without young children as his previous owner was elderly and he hasn’t had much exposure to young children. Since being in Foster he has done fine with teenagers.
Buddy is a super smart boy who needs mental stimulation like any other Australian Shepherd. Buddy’s previous owner taught him to learn the names of all his toys and this smart boy excelled at this so an adopter that is willing to do continue training like teaching tricks along with obedience training is a must. Buddy knows all of his basic obedience, is crate and housetrained and has an awesome recall! He walks well on a leash but is not an apartment dog as he comes from rural Georgia and is used to having acres of land to run.
Buddy is dog selective due to his previous owners housemates Pitbull. Buddy would be tied to a tree in order to let the housemates dog potty and this created a lot of frustration. Buddy does do good with a female dog that is playful but respectful. Buddy has been around cats but will chase if they run so only dog savvy cats. Buddy has also lived with goats and other livestock and is completely fine with them.
