Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*** If you are interested in Dapple, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ***
There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness! Dapple is believed to be a Catahoula/Lab mix. These super-smart, very loving, and loyal young dogs are so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter with euthanasia pending due to lack of space or on the terrifying streets alone and hungry.
Dapple, at just about 6 months and currently 25 lbs (anticipated to be about 40-50 lbs or so when full grown), was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Farfel's Arkansas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this very sweet girl with a great temperament..they rescued Dapple and her litter mates just in the nick of time to spare their lives.
Dapple is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's also so loving and cuddly. She would be very excited to snuggle with her favorite people at the end of an active day. She's also SO smart and very engaging - very typical of her breeds. Many would say these breeds are among the most loyal and engaging in the dog world.
Since Dapple is just a young pup, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Dapple will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten classes.
We feel very strongly that every dog and their family deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt to a home that doesn't choose to offer this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual or in-person positive reinforcement/force-free trainers in your area.
Dapple will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. She will still be in need of 1 or 2 more puppy shot before it is safe for her to go out on public ground.
Ongoing research is clear that it's beneficial to a dog's skeleton to be spayed at a later age. This way the dog continues to receive the hormones for a much longer period of time that will serve them as they age.
Spay is required to finalize any adoption, and must be done by the time the pup is 1 year old.
Applications are currently being accepted for this beautiful, very sweet and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.
