My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, I'm Thelma Lou. My name comes from the Andy Griffith show. My first family had an Opie, a Barney and me, Thelma Lou! I am 5 years old (born 6/26/17) and weigh 80 pounds, although I have lost a little weight while at my foster home. She likes to take me to the dog park for a little exercise and she also doesn't let me snack very much between meals. Whatever she's doing seems to be working because I have more energy and having a lot of fun running around the dog park. I'm also what they call a "blue" Weim. My coat is very dark and when I get a bath, I just glisten. I can't wait to find my forever home because I want to give my forever family lots of kisses. I am quite the lover and I'm very snuggly. Even though I have lived with other dogs and currently living with two small dogs, I think I would prefer to live in a house where I'm the only dog. You see, to me, you will be the most awesome person and I will want to shower you with lots of love and attention and I don't want to be distracted by any other dogs. My foster Mom keeps me in a crate at night. I sleep very well in there and when morning comes and she lets me out, WOW am I one happy girl. I wiggle and lean on her, and she lets me give her lots of kisses. All I want is to make my forever family happy. When my foster mom puts the leash on me and we walk, I always look up at her and smile to make sure I'm doing what I'm supposed to do. I know how to sit and I'm sure if you have other things to teach me, I'll be happy to learn them. My first family had a young granddaughter who came over and visited. I got along well with her. At my foster mom's, I haven't been around any young children at the house, but there were a couple of children at the dog park one day. I didn't pay much attention to them, but since I'm a good-sized girl, I probably shouldn't be around any children that are very small. I am spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative and started on prevention. I'm so excited to know that I will be the perfect girl for the perfect family. We can walk, watch TV together (maybe Andy Griffith!), take naps together and be best friends. It will be so much fun for us. Please complete an adoption application at www.louisvilleweimrescue.com and the volunteers will contact you to talk more about me so our forever can start soon! I am being fostered in Dayton, OH.
