Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello, my name is Trixie, my foster mom thinks I am very good looking although my legs are shorter than the Brittany standard they serve me very well. I am very very loving and my short liver colored tail never stops wagging. I love people and am always looking for adventure. I love watching the birds at the feeder and chasing those pesky squirrels.
The vet has pronounced me healthy and judging by my gums and teeth he estimates my age at 2 years old another vet thought I was 4 but you know it isn’t polite to ask a girl her age. My owners comment to the shelter was that I was "good with children: but "death on chickens" so my loose in the West Virginia hills days are over. The lady that overnighted me while being transported to NJ said she had me loose in the house with three cats so I am fine with all “fur kids” dogs and cats alike. I am good in my crate at night and when my foster family goes out. The rest of the day I have the run of the house and haven’t had any accidents. I love the yard and have been safe inside a four foot chain link fence boy I would love to catch one of those squirrels.
I am well past the chewing stage but when you are out of the room I will counter surf or go into any edible trash so don't leave food out unattended. I am very attentive and eager to please so I am sure I can master not doing these things with consistent correction. I am looking for a forever family that I can love and who will appreciate an active, friendly, beautiful dog like me. I am just coming out of my season and will be spayed and microchipped on March 30. I will be ready to go to my new home the first week of April after my stitches are out. So if you would like to come and meet me take a moment to fill out our online adoption application at www.americanbrittanyrescue.org and I will see you soon!
History – Trixie was surrendered to a West Virginia shelter due to her killing chickens. She is up to date on shots, heartworm negative and on preventative. Fecal test was also negative.
