Here's what the humans have to say about me:
THANK YOU for finding us and interest in our rescued dog. Because Shallot is an international rescue through South Korea. You will have to meet your dog(s) and pick your dog(s) up from the airport.
International airport for picking up dogs:
【SFO、SEA、IAH、YVR、YYZ、LAX/ONT、JFK.】
------------------------------------
Shallot was a little shy at first in her new environment with strangers, just be patient and give her some time to adjust. She is a sweet girl when she opens up and trusts!
She is good and friendly with dogs she hasn’t met before. However, she has not met aggressive, threatening dogs before. So far, she could easily pass by when another dog growled and barked at her in 8ft distance apart.
Every day, she plays with Hay. They play by taking each other’s toys. So she is not aware that taking toys from another dog can be rude. So if she meets a sensitive, obsessive dog, it is recommended to take away all toys and treats at first.
Not experienced with child
She has only met stray cats. She doesn’t care about the cat until the cat runs away. When the cat runs away she chases the cat.
She drools a little in the car but is good at jumping in/out of the car.
Potty training:
Both indoor and outdoor potty trained. She uses the front yard and walking time for potty.
She doesn’t have separation anxiety, but she whines for a short time when the foster closes the door behind her. She stops whining soon.
Leash training:
She used to pull just last week and is on leash training. She is getting a trainer’s help and will get better eventually.
Other:
Her ear was torn when she was rescued. She was also bitten by a pregnant dog, tied next to her.
Crate train: Shallot is still under crate training but brings her toy and plays in the crate.
------------
🌻Rescue story
Hay and Alto are siblings and Shallot was a different puppy that was tied next to them.
The mother of Hay and Alto was tied outside in chain. The owner previously has tied other dogs outside in his other fields and was not punished when the neighbors reported him to the police. (It is illegal but it’s just in words and no one has received any sentence for abusing animals)
The mother dog gave birth to 4 puppies on rock and because she was tied, she couldn’t breastfeed the puppies. The puppies were fed food waste and water was very scarce. We convinced the owner that he shouldn’t keep his dogs like this and received disown agreement.
The dogs went to the fosters and thankfully, all of them was adopted except Hay, alto and Shallot.
Shallot was tied right next to Hay and Alto. Her ear was torn but was not getting any treatment. She was also eating food waste.
The owner at first refused to give up Shallot, too, but as she got bigger the owner soon agreed to disown Shallot.
