Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bear led a very tough first18 months of life. He was owned by a guy who had a dog fighting business. When Bear wouldn't fight, he was put out on the street where he spent several months as a street dog. The SPCA picked him up as a street dog. When I found him he was skin and bones. I took him home and began to take care of him. He is now a well muscled 110 pounds.
Around the house he is a gentle dog who does bark to protect the house. He will play with household items when he is bored. But I am 78 years old and when I take him for a walk I don't move fast enough or definitely enough for him. He will pull toward smells and want to chase squirrels and rabbits. I have a friend who walks him and has no problems at all. She is definitely in control and Bear recognizes that. He does need a walk every day.
He needs a person or couple who are not going to let Bear run the house. He is not good with small children so any kids should be teenagers at least.
