My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog has a story to tell. She was brought to high kill shelter in North Carolina where dogs are held for 5 days before being euthanized by gas. 2 days after arriving, she gave birth to 9 pups. Mama and babies had only a few days to go before their time was up.

We contacted a local rescue group in the area and asked for their help. They were wonderful. They not only pulled the dogs to safety and keep them in foster care for a few days until we could make arrangements to get there, but they even had a volunteer willing to meet us half way. This little family was very fortunate to have so many people working together to save them.

Mama and babies arrived safe and sound. It didn't take long for Molly settle into her new safe surroundings. We weren't sure what to expect with a new mommy coming from such dire circumstances. She surprised us all with her kind and gentle nature. She is an absolute jewel. She is loving, friendly, well mannered, clean, housetrained, and very appreciative. She must have been loved and well cared for at some point in her life. She is an exceptionally nice dog.

If you are looking for a wonderful dog that can fit right into your family with an easy transition and little work, this may be the girl for you. We really have no idea what her breed mix is but gave it our best guess. She is calm and well behaved. She is about 2 years old and weighs 40 pounds.

Molly has tested positive for heartworm. She is being treated with Heartguard which is a monthly chewable pill. She must be given this every 30 days to kill baby heartworms in her system. The adults will eventually die and be absorbed by her body. Her adoptive family must be willing to continue her treatment until her system is clear.
