My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Journey
Breeds: Alabama Brown Dog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female
Size: Large

Journey arrives to Minnesota on September 10th and is looking for a home to call her own. She would love it if you would pick her up that day and make her yours. All adoptions have a 7 day trial period to ensure the best fit for dog and human(s). Please note that in order to be considered for adoption the application at the end of this bio must be completed. We choose adopters based on timing of applications as well as best fit.

Shy, sweet, always trying to do what is expected of her- those are some qualities of our sweet Journey. She was originally found as puppy without much socialization. She had not seen a lot of the world which made her somewhat cautious. Our rescue partners quickly found her a foster home, as the shelter was not the place where she was going to learn new things or gain confidence. She has been in foster for a year in Alabama and has come a very very long way. She has learned that the home environment is not so scary, potty training, how to walk on leash, and much more. Journey now is looking for an adoptive home that is willing to love her and help her continue to develop. She is no doubt going to be shy and take more time to adjust to her new environment. She will never be the super outgoing dog you take everywhere with you, but she is full of love and is going to be waiting for you when you get home from our outings! Her perfect adopter would be someone willing to give her some time to adjust but also push her a bit to learn new things. She is dog friendly, doesn’t seem to mind the barn cats at her foster home and has lived with kids

Requirements: Training sign up required. Ideally fenced yard

Adoption Fee: $400 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives.
