Mindy is a 1 year old (approx DOD: 4/30/20) B lack and Tan coonhound mix. She came to APS with a broken leg that has been repaired by a regional veterinary hospital. Mindy is healing well and on limited activity until mid-July. This girl is so smart and sweet! After her last vet visit, she was treated with a stop at the puppy toy store and she was on her best behavior! Mindy is crate-training and doing well on her housetraining.
From Mindy's Foster Family: Mindy came to us after surgery on her leg; she never let it slow her down! This resilient girl is energetic and loving. In her time with us, she's done well on a leash and learned some commands, such as sitting for a treat. She is a hungry hippo and is very food motivated; she howls with excitement when she sees dinner being prepared! She loves everything and everyone including our other dogs (who have been slightly territorial at times). She's untested with cats and kids but doesn't give any impression she'd have an issue with either. Bernice is a puppy - she needs a lot of stimulation and she is energetic; sometimes she is hilariously clumsy! But, she can also entertain herself with chew toys. She typically goes into her crate with no issue both at night and when it's time for us to go. She's mostly potty trained; sometimes a smell distracts her outside and she forgets to potty until she's back inside. No accidents in the crate or on any furniture including through the night.
